Siemens 1500 PLC after removing the block optimization, how to keep the power off?

Publish Date 2018-07-24
1. For non-optimized DB blocks, the element retention in the blocks can not be set separately.

Double-click to open a non-optimized DB block and tick any box in the "hold" column. Since this is a non-optimized DB block, if the variables in the DB block need to be kept, all variables are set to hold (that is, the "hold" column is checked).

2. For optimized DB, double-click to open the optimized DB block and check in the "Keep" column. It should be noted that since this is an optimized DB block, if any variable in the DB block needs to be preserved, check the "hold" in the variable line, and the variables in the optimized DB block can be preserved by a single setting.

3. If you do use non-optimized DB, you can consider dividing one DB into two parts, one DB is set to keep power off and the other is set to keep power off. It is worth considering whether this will cause confusion in data organization and make the program write and readability worse.

If you don't need optimized block access, you might as well use M registers to set intervals to keep fish and bear's paws at the same time. Non-optimized block access does not support this functionality, just as the DB block of 300 PLC does not have this functionality.

In the use of s7-1500 plc, data block DB is divided into optimized data block and standard data block, and the default is optimized data block. Optimizing the data block can choose whether to keep power off or not for each data. If you want to keep power off, you need to tick the data you want to keep, and then download it to PLC to keep power off. Standard data block can not choose whether to keep power off or not for single data, but can only select the whole data block.

You can change whether a data block is an optimized or a standard data block by using the data block attributes. Specific methods are as follows: select data blocks, right-click, appear attributes, select attributes, appear data block dialog box, select attributes under normal conditions, check the optimized block before accessing, that is, optimize data blocks, the previous check is standard data blocks.
